Yesterday we had an amazing opportunity to have our Engineering Teacher, Mr. Lee, come in and guest teach in our classroom! We learned about how electricity travels and how to create a circuit that powers a light bulb. After a short lesson, we worked with Snap Circuit Jr. kits (available in most toy stores and SO FUN!) to power light bulbs, miniature motors, and used on/off switches. We had a blast! We will be using this knowledge down the road in our SHINE YOUR LIGHT project to create our very own circuits!
Don't forget to head over to our "Food for Thought" tab under the projects section of our site! There you will find all three episodes of our show 22 Kid's Cooking, (which was filmed and edited by our very own Corey Villicana, Brooklyn's Mom)! You will also find links to purchase a hard copy of our cook book and our PDF version that you can download onto your portable device!
Wow! What a fantastic exhibition this was. I am so proud of the knowledge our students shared with our community. Students worked for months on this project collecting data, researching healthy foods, writing and critiquing each other's healthy recipes, and filming our own cooking show. Students were asked many questions by parents and community members about healthy foods and the process of creating our beautiful cookbooks and cooking show and were beyond able to answer with confidence! Thank you so much for all your support during this project!
Please head over to the Food for Thought tab under the "Projects" section of the website to view our cooking show, buy our cookbook and see more information about our project . |
